Rail: Norway From The BergensBanen

Another LONG video!  Save this one for the free wi-fi, or sample it in bits.  The BergensBanen railway links Bergen on Norway’s western coast to the capital city of Oslo. This video by Bnslamb, filmed on a wonderfully sunny day, puts you aboard at Bergen for the trip east.  The camera is mounted at the front, and thus affords unobstructed views of some stunning scenery, from the shadowy fjords starting out at Bergen to wintry snows at the top of Norway’s mountainous spine, and on through rolling forests to the final destination.  The video identifies the mountains being pierced by the route’s numerous tunnels; the engineering is as impressive as the terrain.   One wonders what the journey looks like during more typical Scandinavian weather-mists, rain, and snow.  Coffee and Ibsen, anyone? 🙂
