Travel, like management, is best done with a good deal of walking around- kicking the tires and getting the feel of a place by first-hand observation. Or, if you can’t do it yourself, piggybacking off of someone else thanks to today’s marvelous video technology. You Tube channel GlobeTrotterAlpha does just that with this tour of Tel Aviv, filmed from dawn to late evening. Israel’s largest city is a financial and hi-tech beehive, where close to half the country’s population lives. It is chock-a-block with glittering office towers, modern residential neighborhoods and trendy eateries and clubs. Like Los Angeles, it is perched on a western ocean, and does emit a kind of Angelino vibe. But go a couple of hundred miles from Tel Aviv in almost any direction, and one finds some of the world’s most troubled hot spots.
